The NCAOR in Cryospheric Science thus initiated some notable research that led to excellent scientific outcome. The programme has received international recognition with our research activities incorporated in international programmes like the International Trans Antarctic Scientific Expedition (ITASE) and International Partnerships in Ice Core Sciences (IPICS). Both of these programmes are the core initiatives of Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the International Arctic Scientific Committee (IASC). National recognitions are endowed to the team members in the form of merit awards by the Ministry of Earth Science (Government of India). Further, international recognitions are evident in the form of invited memberships to prestigious advisory bodies like Joint Bipolar Action Group on Science Cooperation (BipAG II) by SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research) / IASC as well as the Palaeoclimate Commission (PALCOMM) of the International Quaternary Association (INQUA).
