A thematic session on ‘Exploration and Environmental Studies of Deep-Sea Minerals’ was organised by NCPOR’s Marine Geosciences & Exploration Group at the World Ocean Science Congress 2026, hosted by CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography on 26 February 2026.
Chaired by Dr. John Kurian, Scientist G and Group Director and Dr. K. A. Kamesh Raju, Retd. Chief Scientist, Csir-nio Goa, the session featured an insightful keynote address by Dr. Raju, highlighting the scientific and environmental dimensions of deep-sea mineral exploration. The session brought together experts and researchers through 9 oral presentations and 19 poster presentations, fostering meaningful discussions on sustainable exploration and environmental stewardship of deep-sea resources.
