On August 19, 2024, NCPOR signed a contract with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), appointing them as the consultancy firm for shipbuilding supervision of the new Oceanographic Research Vessel (ORV) under the Deep Ocean Mission. The ORV shall be built at M/s GRSE Kolkata and expected to be delivered in 2027-28.
