Current Research Activities : • Life Beneath Ice: Examining Prydz Bay's landfast ice phytoplankton diversity and responses to climate variability. • Plastics in Polar Oceans: Investigating the occurrence, ecological fate, and biogeochemical impacts of plastic pollution.

  • 2016- Awarded with second best oral presentation in Hindi scientific presentation at NCAOR. 
  • 2015- Awarded with second best poster presentation in national Hindi scientific presentation at INCOIS, Hyderabad.
  • 2011- Exemplary annual service award by NIO Goa. 
  • 2008 - Awarded with gold medal for best poster at international conference on Biofouling and Bioinvasion, NIO, Goa.
  • 2008 - Awarded with CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship 
  • 2007 – POGO-SCOR fellow
  • 2005 – NF-POGO  fellowship


Research Area

The Tiny Giants of Our Oceans: From microscopic algae that sustain ocean life to microscopic plastics that threaten it, my research explores two tiny worlds with enormous implications for the future of our oceans.
