IODP FORUM and Program management office (PMO) meetings

       1. Dr. Dhananjai K Pandey (IODP-India) attended the IODP PMO Meeting (Mar. 28, 2022) to discuss fruitful coordination and action on flagship initiatives of the upcoming phase of the Deep Ocean drilling.

       2. The annual review meeting of IODP-India funded projects was held on 10th -11th February, 2022 via video conferencing to assess and evaluate the progress of IODP- India funded projects; reviewing of new post cruise science proposals and for release of grants.

        3. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey (IODP-India), participated in the bi-annually held IODP FORUM meeting (hybrid mode) during 07-08 April, 2022.

        4. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey attended the JRFB meeting (24-26 May 2022) through hybrid mode conducted at Virginia.

        5. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey attended the IODP Forum Planning meeting (hybrid) through zoom on 18 August 2022.

        6. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey attended the IODP Forum meeting (Sept 14-15, 2022) and Program Member Office (PMO) meeting (Sept 16, 2022) organized at Lemond Doherty Earth Observatory, USA in Hybrid Mode.

        7. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey attended the meeting of the international guidelines drafting committee for virtual IODP expeditions on 28 Sept 2022.

        8. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey participated in the Editorial Board Meeting of the Journal of the Geological Society of London (02 Nov 2022). 

        9. Dr. Dhananjai K. Pandey attended the meeting of the IODP committee for outlining virtual expeditions (Hybrid mode) 09^th and 30^th Nov 2022.

Annual IODP-India review meeting

The annual review meeting of IODP-India funded projects was held on 23 September and 14 December 2022 to assess and evaluate the progress of IODP-India funded projects; review of new post-cruise science proposals and for the release of grants.

IODP Science Evaluation Panel (SEP) meeting

Dr. Nisha Nair (NCPOR, Goa) and Dr. Rajeev Saraswat (NIO, Goa) participated in the IODP SEP meetings (hybrid mode) as representatives to SITE and SCIENCE sub-panels respectively for the evaluation of scientific drilling proposals during 29 – 30 June, 2022.

Workshop

A national-level IODP workshop was held at NCPOR for prospective scientific drilling in the Andamans region. This workshop was conducted phase-wise (on paleoclimatic and tectonic aspects) during September 22-23 and December 13-14, 2022. The scientific deliberations culminated in the formulation of important scientific questions that could be answered through a deep-sea drilling endeavor in the Andaman region.
