NCPOR Hosts Danish Ambassador for Discussions on Polar and Ocean Research

NCPOR had the honour of hosting H.E. Mr. Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark, on 28 January 2026. Senior scientists briefed the Ambassador on NCPOR’s mandate and its key scientific initiatives across polar and ocean domains. Dr. Manish Tiwari Scientist-F and Group Director (Arctic Operations), outlined the Indian Arctic Programme; Dr. Shailendra SainiScientist-F and Group Director (Antarctic Operations), highlighted India’s expanding scientific activities in Antarctica; and Dr. Parijat Roy, Scientist-F, presented major research initiatives under the Deep Ocean Mission. The Ambassador also had an immersive experience through the Science on a Sphere facility and a virtual tour of Antarctica, offering deeper insights into India’s polar research and outreach efforts.
