NCPOR hosted an engaging virtual seminar by Dr. Frank Lamy, Head of the Geology Section at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI). Delivered a talk titled “Five million years of Antarctic Circumpolar Current variability,” Dr. Lamy discussed the limited availability of paleoclimate records from the Southern Hemisphere, especially the South Pacific, despite its vital role in deep-ocean carbon storage.
Using newly analysed sediment cores, he presented a reconstruction of five million years of Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) behaviour.
