Swacch Bharat Pakhwada was organized in the ESSO-National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR) during the period 15th –30th April 2016 under the Swacch Bharat Mission’s mandate. Several in-house cleaning programmes were undertaken separately within every department of ESSO-NCAOR.

In order to give a boost to our national endeavor as a part of the National Mission, a Beach Cleaning Programme was organised during Swachh Bharat Pakhwada at one of the most picturesque beach of Vasco, the Hollant Beach on Saturday, 30th April 2016. The Hollant Beach is a common picnic spot for the local visitors and identified with plenty of garbage. To restore its natural beauty, whole hearted representation of about hundred ESSO-NCAOR staffs, their families & friends with their vigorous effort collected tons of garbage from beach surroundings and disposed it off to a proper location. The Campaign was highly successful and was also a source of motivation for the local visitors to further preclude them from littering.
This cleaning campaign was led by Director, ESSO-NCAOR, along with the organizing committee comprising Dr. Avinash Kumar, Mr. M M Subramaniam, Ms. Gautami D Samui, and Mr. Mohd Sayeed.
