Advancing Research on Submarine Geohazards

NCPOR hosted a brainstorming session on "Understanding Submarine Slope Failures along the Indian Continental Margins" on 31 July 2026. Chaired by Prof. M. Radhakrishna (IIT Bombay), the meeting brought together experts from incoismoes, CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography Goa, Geological Survey of India, ONGC Limited, MANIT Bhopal,   Moes Niot  & CSIR National Institute of Data Science and AI to review current submarine slope failure research, identify knowledge gaps, and discuss future research priorities for advancing submarine geohazard assessment and tsunami risk mitigation along India's continental margins.
