The national workshop for evaluating scientific proposals for 46ISEA is being conducted under the chairmanship of Prof. N. C. Pant, with the core committee including Dr. Rasik Ravindra, Chairman, RAC; Sh. Mirza Javed Beg, Consultant, NCPOR; Dr. Vandana Chaudhary, Scientist G, MoES and Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR. Along with Core Committee, the Subject Expert Committees under the different themes evaluate the proposals for scientific merit and feasibility in Antarctica’s extreme conditions.
On Day 1, around 20 proposals from 18 institutions across India presented under six themes—Glaciology, Human Physiology & Medicine, Environmental Science, Biological Science, Ocean Sciences, and Geosciences.
On Day 2, Under the chairmanship of Prof. N. C. Pant, the core committee and subject experts evaluated ~17 scientific proposals from 11 institutions across key themes including Geophysics, Atmospheric Sciences, and Geosciences & Geology.
NCPOR acknowledges the valuable contributions of the core committee and subject experts in ensuring rigorous scientific review. Selected proposals, based on scientific merit and logistical feasibility, will be undertaken during the upcoming 46th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica.
