The two-day National Workshop for evaluating scientific proposals for the 46th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica (46ISEA) commenced on 22 April 2026. Dr. Rahul Mohan, Group Director (GD-Polar Science), welcomed participants.
In his address, Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR, emphasized the need to uphold high-quality research standards in Antarctica. Dr. Shailendra Saini, GD (Antarctic Operations) outlined the Indian Antarctic Programme, while Dr. Aparna Shukla, Scientist F, MoES, highlighted the compliance of ISEA research activities with the Indian Antarctic Act, 2022.
