Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director of NCPOR, virtually chaired a Special Meeting of the Asian Forum for Polar Sciences (AFoPS) on 29th March 2026 at the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW2026). The AFoPS is a leading polar body, founded 22 years ago, with six Members and four Observers. India is the current Chair of AFoPS.
