NCPOR Hosts Canadian High Commissioner to Strengthen Indo-Canadian Polar Cooperation

NCPOR had the honour of hosting H.E. Mr. Christopher Cooter, High Commissioner of Canada (Canada in India (High Commission of Canada)), and Ms. Vanessa Pukal, Vice Consul and Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada, Mumbai, on 02.02.2026. Dr. Rahul Mohan, Scientist-G and Group Director (GD), welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of NCPOR’s major activities. Senior scientists highlighted India’s scientific initiatives across polar and ocean domains: Dr. Manish Tiwari, Scientist-F and GD, presented India’s Arctic research efforts; Dr. Shailendra Saini, Scientist-F and GD, outlined the Indian Antarctic Programme; and Dr. Sunil V, Scientist-E, discussed NCPOR’s contributions to the Deep Ocean Mission. The discussions emphasized opportunities for strengthening Indo-Canadian collaboration in polar and ocean research.
